Back for good!!!

Hey everybody!

Yeah, you’re right! Good, old Sanny is back. Back for good.
You’ve abandoned all your hope? Oh, never underestimate me! I promised to be back, so here I am. And I feel good.

First of all, I still have problems with my neck due to my little accident. But my summer was great.
Second I had another crash with my car, my beloved Honda Civic is dead… I miss it so much but I’ve got a new car already. A beautiful BMW. That’s a dignified alternative. Maybe I’ll tell you someday what happend in detail.

But there are some other reasons that made me writing again.

To begin with, Christmas time is coming up. Sunday it’s the first Advent and you have to know the holidays are my season!!! Christmas is the best time of the year – a very special time.
I love to see everything lighted and decorated, to smell chestnuts and to listen to all those great songs. My favorite christmas song is “White Christmas” by Bing Crosby.
A few days ago, I went to the cinema – together with my best friend V – to watch the new version of “A Christmas Carol” in 3D. You don’t know this story? It’s the best story about Christmas – ever! Written by the grandiose Charles Dickens. Awesome! Read it! I’ll blog a bit more about Christmas, soon.

V and I also went on holidays to my grandparents. It was such a great week.
A few weeks later, we visited her family. Her aunt celebrated her birthday and it was the best party I ever visited. We danced the whole night.
And V, I’ve got a message for you: I am so glad to see you more often now. I missed you so damn much. You’re still like a sister to me and you will always be. Nobody understands me the way you does. I love you and I’ll always be there for you, my sis. Thank you!

In the end, I want to say sorry for being absent. But – as you can see – I’m blogging again.
And to give you something to think about – here is a little riddle again. Thank you grandpa for sharing this old riddle with me. Please comment to this entry to share your answer.

After his death, a sheik left 19 camels. His three sons should seperate them as follows:

The oldest son gets half of all camels.
The second oldest son gets a quarter.
And the youngest son gets a fifth.

The three of them are debating and dicussing but the cannot find a solution without killing one of the animals.

A wise cameleer crosses their way. After a few minutes he knows the solution. What did he told them?

Please unravel the mistery
Kisses, Sanny

I tell you – very hard! At least when it hits your back of the head. And I guess now, you can imagine what happened.

Friday, the 5th – a gym of a school in Cologne. A group of adolescents is playing volleyball while some of them are waiting well-behaved on the bench for the next game. A boy serves, the ball passes the net and…

hit me!!!

First it was like a shock. Then I felt a strange feeling in my neck and dizzy. I got out of the hall, entered the locker room and started to cry. It was such a pain I could barely endure. The whole world was turning around. I tried hard not to vomit. But after a few minutes, I decided to go back inside and to calm down till the end of the lesson.

The end of the lesson came and the boy who had served wanted to apologize – at that moment got wind of the accident. She had been so busy with assigning marks… So I told her everything and she decided to call the ambulance - after she had run around like a crazy chicken. I was really afraid cuz I hate hospitals.
Another teacher came to watch over me while my teacher was calling the ambulance somewhere.
I was laying on the floor and the world started to turn around again so I called my mother and told her what happened. My eyes started to cry again and I wanted her to come but that was impossible at that time.

The ambulance arrived and the doctor tied a neck collar around my neck. Veeeery uncomfortable – I can tell! We drove to the hospital, they made some tests and after an hour – I guess – another doctor came and told me the result: A whiplash injury!

Impossible! Impossible, I thought… He prescribed some hard pain killers and bed rest and I had to consult my doctor the next monday. I’m a frequenter so my orthopedic surgeon should be happy to see me. Well he was, somehow…

The upshot was that I was sick on leave for the next 2 weeks. I had to do some physiotherapy and I wasn’t allowed to carry heavy things, to move too fast and to do sports!!! Horrible, I can tell.

Get well soon!
Kisses, Sanny

PS: I will take a little break to get well so don’t be upset. I promise, I’ll be back!!!

Finally! I made it! I’ve found the time to blog about one of the biggest events in my whole life!

But first of all, you have to know that I am such a big musical fan. There are so little musicals I don’t like and so many I do like! My favourite one is “The Lion King” and I saw it in January this year. Awesome!!! Breathtaking, stunning, unbelievable. But I wont blog about TLK but about one of the oldest musicals.

At work, I got the chance to buy two tickets for Starlight Express at Sunday, the 17th of May because my trainer’s brother-in-law had tickets for Metallica at the same date. And he wanted to get rid of the SE tickets, so he sold them for a very fair price and I seized the chance – of course. The top of the cream was, that one of my best friends R-C took the second ticket so we met each other again.

R-C and I know each other for almost two and a half years now but we’re a quite long way away from each other so we don’t see each other often. Well, that makes it even more special if we see each other.

She visited one of her best friends LI that Sunday and I was supposed to meet LI, too so we combined this. You know, I had visited L the Saturday before and I had left her to pick R-C up at LI’s. Anyway, I was on the autobahn again on my way through the Ruhr, 100 kilometers far away from L’s place. If you had seen me… It was so complicated to drive while reading the map and vice versa but I did it somehow and I have to admit it was way more easier than I had guessed. Though the weather sucked - again…

LI is living in such a cute little apartment. Her bed was so cozy. After we got to know each other, we started to chat a little bit about our weekends, our jobs, good movies and hot boys. Talking about hot boys – we ate Edward. Yeah, LI had baked a cake in the shape of Edward  – it was delicious! Oh and we ate some toast but they looked like a square as they always do.
Afterwards we watched Mamma Mia – yeah another musical – and it is such a great movie! I am a real ABBA fan and to hear the songs in these arrangements was different but they did a great job. I love the soundtrack. Oh, and Dominic Cooper is a hottie!!!

Before we left, LI and R-C kind of performed two really cool songs and there couldn’t have been a better ending of the day – before the big event. By the way, LI you are very cool. Hope to see you soon.
But, you know what?! I hate Düsseldorf! We got lost but thanks to my good orientation and R-C’s help we found the right way to the autobahn towards Bochum. Thank god, the theatre was easy to find.

The musical started at 7pm. I was already thrilled after the first two minutes I guess. The costumes, the sound, the lights and the roller skates – a First Class interplay!

For all the ignoramus out there – it deals with trains which raced against each other. Rusty the steam train is the protagonist. He is in love with Pearl – the first class car. Of course it is a love story but well packed.
There a loads of different characters, all wearing different and awesome costumes. The theatre has not only a big stage but also courses heading through the whole hall and they are rushing along all these courses sometimes just in front of you or behind your head. Oh, and the characters even move all a little different. It was so cute to see old Poppa moving slowly onstage.
A highlight was the medley at the end of the second act which summed up the best songs – and there are many good songs. At the moment, my favourites are  “He’ll whistle at me” and “Crazy” – but they change from time to time.

All I can say is, go get tickets and watch it! You will love it. I’m still over the moon with Pearls hair and her costume. Guess, she is one of my favourite characters – and Rusty the little steam train of course. Oh and Elektra and… Ah, actually I like all of the characters. They did it so well! Trust me, I’m going to watch it again - and again and again.

You can find out more about Starlight Express here!

Sadly the night ended very fast and R-C and I had to say goodbye. But luckily we will see each other again, soon.
And little S?! Oh, I shared my time on the autobahn again to get back home. It was quite late and I was dog tired as I finally got back but it was worth it!

R-C, listen: Thank you for sharing this night with me. Thank you for being one of my best friends. Thank you for being still there for me though I was almost unavailable for one year. I hope not to lose you sometimes. Thank god I’ve found you. I missed you last year and it feels so good to be back. I love you, yours T-C!

Love me or leave me
Kisses, Sanny

That was what I said as I first met L – one of my friends I know from the Internet.  You wanna hear the whole story? Then go on.

Saturday, May 16th

I got up quite early because that was the day I was going to see L for the first time ever. We’ve known each other for more than one year but we’ve never met. And now it was our first meeting. I was very excited to see her. We had planned this trip two weeks ago spontaneously but we didn’t had the chance to talk to each other again before Saturday so I felt a bit uncomfortable as I left around 11 am.
The biggest problem was – I had nothing but her address. Not any kind of phone number or another possibility to contact her. But optimistically I went on my way to her – 160km far away.

The good thing is, I love to drive! Rushing over the autobahn, well if you can call it rushing with my old car. It celebrates it’s 22nd birthday this year! Yeah, it is in it’s prime ages! We – me and my car – found the way quite well. So I stood in front of her house and rang the bell… I rang it twice… And again… Nothing happened!
I was shocked. I rang the bell again and again, knocked at the door, at the windows but still no reaction. Little S was standing there, no phone number and nobody opened the door. So I called my mum. She told me to go to a cafe, relax and to wait a while.

After I had eaten a sandwich, I started another try. And… surprise. Somebody opened the door shyly. It was L and she stared at a ghost! Well, at least her face looked that way. She was so surprised to see me, she was almost shocked. I calmed her down and told her not to eat her up.
She hadn’t bargained with me so I caught her off guard. It took her a while to calm down and to feel comfortable. But then one of my coolest weekends started.

Thank you, L for sharing this weekend with me. It was so cool, to talk to you that much, to get to know you better. And the movies we watched – awesome! And it was such a funny afternoon. I hope that I could help you a bit with mathematics. We have so much in common, I guess and I love to see you soon again!

Unfortunately we got up very early the next morning because L had to leave. Well, she was supposed to. But plans changed… Nevertheless I left at 10 am to see my R-C! But I will tell you about my Sunday with LI and R-C next time!

You know, I love you!
Kisses, Sanny

Yeah me and mathematics. No, not what you think. I’m not miserable – I love it. Stop!
I adore it!!!

At the moment I am reading “Fermats letzter Satz” a.k.a. Fermat’s last theorem. Fer-what?! Fermat’s last theorem. One of the biggest mathematical riddles which has been solved finally a few years ago. Don’t worry. I wont blog about this. I just want to tell you, how good it is! If you adore or at least like mathematics – read it! If you don’t – read it! Awesome book… And it deals with so many great mathematicians – like Pythagoras, you know?

Maybe I should add it to my hobbies because mathematics is one of the most interesting things in this world. Everything is number! Did you know that in a group of at least 23 people, the probability counts more than 50 percent that two of them have the same birthday? You can bet on it. In a group of 57 it is more than 99 percent. Unbelievable, isn’t it?

For all the mathematicians and non-mathematicians if got a little well-known riddle. It is very easy – try to solve it. You can comment this entry if you’ve got the answer. I’ll tell you the correct answer soon.

You are right next to a river and have a 5 gallon container and a 3 gallon container. You need to measure out 1 gallon of water. How do you do it?

Strike!

Do you like bowling? I do! And yeah you’re right – I’m going to blog about bowling this time.

First I’ve to say, I’ve bowled my first time two years ago with my math course-mates. It was really cool but I lost… all of the times.

But last Friday, we, the trainees, went bowling with our heads, our trainers and deputy trainers. We invited the upcoming trainees to give them a chance to get to know us a bit better before they’ll start their training in August. Actually it was planned to barbecue at the Rhine – I love barbecuing – but the weather sucked!

So we decided to bowl Friday afternoon in Bonn. It was going to be a really cool event but – maybe I should have told you earlier – I can be a real klutz… Our last lessons in school before we left had been PE and we played a modification of dodge-ball – at least I tryed… I stumbled, fell and my knee had the first contact with the floor. Ouch! I’ve got still a big bruise there.

It didn’t help – I promised to drive to Bonn and so I did. And then we arrived at the bowling center. J and K had been with me.

That was my first problem that eve. My next one – what a surprise – dealt with my tiny feet. Believe me, they are tiny! I had to wear very small shoes and they were still a bit to wide. Not that this is something new or special, but it is really annoying. Why can’t I be Bigfoot?!

Our co-workers had already started. They mixed the groups so that trainers and trainees played together. I wanted to have a little pause to recover my knee a little bit so I told my trainer to go for the first round. A big mistake! He earned just 2 points. 2 POINTS!!! Honestly, he is not really a good player. But I could catch up and made the third place. Yeah, of course you’ve expected me to win, but I am satisfied. I think my technique was quite good anyway.

K won the round, R was second – as far as I remeber. My trainer PR made the last place – deserved! But my second trainer RB wasn’t even better.  Anyway, we decided to switch the groups. Youth vs. experience! Trainees vs. the rest.
Well, I have to admit, the experience won the duel. But it was very funny to see our MD bowling. I made the 5th place in our group but I can’t remember who made the first one. One thing I do remember is that our deputy contributions-trainer made a clean sweep! It was unbelievable but he is such a good player.

Back to the roots… After our two nice games, the bosses had to leave and we decided – after I took control of the organisation, RB missed it a little bit – to go to a restaurant in Bonn to eat and to drink something. We drove by car, well I drove and one of our deputy trainers – who had to leave us, too – took the rest to the city.
It was a nice circle. We chatted, I ate a salad and drank some juice. Bit by bit the people left – K was the first. In the end, just me, RB and PR – my trainers – sat there and talked about different subject – politics, our co-workers, the training and so on. We left at half past eight and I drove back home – though my knee still felt horrible

Guys, it was a great night and yes – I do love bowling. Let us bowl again!

Points win!
Kisses, Sanny

Okay, you know I am a huge Twilight fan. And today I had the ultimate Twilight encounter…

I was on my way to school per rail. It was almost empty but two stations further I felt a glance in my back so I turned around. And there he was – alive and staring at me!

His red-golden hair, his bright eyes and his nearly pale skin made him so beautiful. Believe me, he could have been Edward Cullens brother – well at least in my imagination. I think I blushed as I saw him. Unfortunately I sat in the wrong direction so I had to turn around to see him. Damn it… He was so handsome I wanted to glance at him the whole time.
As I left the railway, I checked his hand, his clothes and his shoes. Very neat and his long fingers even as light as the rest of his skin. He wore some kind of leather jacket and jeans – but he looked gorgeous. I recognized that he read a book about the universe so he seemed to be intelligent… OMG – perfectly!

On my way home I had to think about him all the time. As I looked up it was like a shock. Carlisle Cullen standing right in front of me. He looked exactly like the actor portraying Carlisle though he wasn’t that blond. But very handsome. I think I blushed again. Impossible…

Dear god, let me see him again – my Railway-Edward!!!

Okay, so this is for my best friend V! She celebrated her 20th birthday last Saturday and I promised to blog about this. But you know – even if I hadn’t promised…

I had helped her to organise the party 3 day before and put myself in charge of preparing two sorts of salad. So I had to get up a bit early Saturday to get ready. I made a potato and a red pepper salad with olives and cheese – delicious!

At 4 pm the party started though some guests still hadn’t arrived. M, JS, KJ and E and her boyfriend had arrived already. It was good to see some of them again – mostly M (you know I luv ya) and JS. O and some other friends of V were still missing. I was very excited to see O again. We hadn’t seen each other for one year but anyway she is a very good of mine!

We waited a little and – after O had arrived – started to play some little party games to cheer us up. We played some kind of charade but as we started we noticed that our rules had some gaps. That made it even more funny and we went over to a game  called “Taboo”. You have to describe a word without using some other words noted on a card.

V’s father barbecued and we started with dinner. At the same time the rain started as well. First it was just a little drizzel but a storm came up and we saved the day as we escape into the small living room in V’s house. It was quite comfortable and at least it was dry.

Inside, V brought a big bowl of sangria and V, KJ, M and another friend drank it with 1m long straws. It was so funny to observe them while they almost suffocated. I chatted most of the time with O for we hadn’t seen each other for such a long time so we had many topics to deal with. It was so nice to see her again and it was like it had ever been. Strange how less people change during one year…
But I also found some fellows in M and JS because they are also amazing fans of the Twilight Saga. It was one of our main subjects during that night.

Bit by bit the guests left the party and JS, O and I were the last so we helped V and M, who slept over at V’s, to clean up. I had to take parts of my salads home because there was so many salad left. But I think it tasted good… hopefully.

It was such a great night, with good music, good food and nice people and I had decided to invite some of the guests to my birthday party in summer. Hope it will be as good as V’s. She will be there too and I hope M can come as well. O and JS are invited, too and of course I will blog about this. You know how this is working! Maybe I couldn’t really sum up the fun we had but I tell you, you missed something.

V – this is for you: It was such a lovely party and you did so well! I’m looking forward to your next birthday party! I will always love you, my girl!

Happy belated birthday

Ship ahoy!

Anchors aweigh! Cast off! Get the party started!

Okay – focus! What I’m trying to tell is, that I’ve been to my first party on a ship! The party themed “Sion Koelsch “, a famous beer from Cologne and it was like a disco unless we’ve partied on board.

Friday night

Entrance was at half past eight and the ship left the harbor around eight p.m.. I went there with my 4 co-trainees – I’ll name them J, K and R – and some of my co-workers. We had decided to go to this party a few months ago at work just for fun and it has been our first trip together. The tickets were quite expensive but I’d thought it would be good for the working atmosphere – and yes, it has been good!

The first hour was horror, anyway. It was so loud and cram-full, both things I do not really prefer. And if this hasn’t been enough and to spare, they were aloud to smoke on deck, so I had to run upstairs to get some fresh air every ten minutes. My throat burned like fire and my eyes even more.
I thought I wouldn’t survive this night but then the situation turned. One of my co-workers asked subtly for a dance and so we danced “Disco-Fox”. I barely knew the steps but it was cool. He showed me how to move and turn around when he switched his hand in position and it worked quite well. After we had finished our little dancing I felt not that much nervous anymore to be there with my co-workers and my supervisor. The music changed a bit more to modern songs and we all sang out loud. J, K and R were drinking some beer but as I don’t drink any kind of alcohol I stuck to soda.
The vibes lifted and we were all dancing together. Sometimes we went upstairs again to get some fresh air and to enjoy the view. It was really beautiful to see the Rhine during twilight – well at least for my dreamy self.
As they finally started to play some Cologne hits, the atmosphere almost exploded. We jumped, sang, swung and turned around as if there was just one big family having a party on this ship – I love this kind of attitude.
I shot some pics with K’s camera as they were partying so much and I got some compliments for coming off like that – you must know, I can be a real party-girl – without drinking any alcohol – though I was the phenomena of the night by staying sober.

I left the party with R after we had docked at half past 10. Yeah, quite early I know but it was too much for me. I can’t stay that long where I can’t breath, where I have no space and everybody hits me. R’s feet hurt so much that I drove her home. We chatted a little bit on our way and it was really nice to see, that people can still be themselves after the have drunken alcohol. [Maybe I will tell you about my little problem someday.]

J and I decided to repeat this next year and J, K, R and I want to go out again in a few weeks – hopefully because it was better than I’d imagined it to be. The cream of the crop was that I did recognize to be attractive as the boys and men were staring at me.

Get the party started!
Kiss, Sanny

Hey there!
As promised – I’m gonna tell you something about the big deal on Wednesday!

Okay – how shall I start? Maybe you should know where I’m working, to understand this. I’m working for a big public health insurance company in Germany.  Well, I’m still a trainee in the first year of apprenticeship. My training there started last year on August 1st and you have to know that I love this job! My co-worker and my two trainers are all so nice and my co-trainees are quite cool, too. AND – I’m really good in what I’m doing. Dunno why, but it’s all very easy to understand – at least for me – and that’s why it is so cool! I’m glad to work there and I don’t want to do anything different.

So the big deal has, of course, something to do with my job. But from start to finish…
Last September or October my “contribution-trainer” asked me to work out a presentation about social insurance for artists. I should present it to me co-trainees. So I worked it out on a Friday afternoon and I figured out that I had enough time to develop a schema to give them an overview about the whole topic. My trainer was so thrilled about it, that he went to our contribution-head and showed him my schema. And our head was even more thrilled about it as he asked me to change it a little so that my co-worker can use it in practice.
It took me at least 6 months until he was satisfied with the result. But he was very proud of me and it got down to the fact that I wanted to present my schema to the whole contribution department on my own – last Wednesday and Thursday!
That was the big deal – my big deal! I’m still so proud and happy that I got this chance. And the most thrilling thing is, that my branch manager and my sub branch manager complimented me on this on Thursday. That was a little embarrassing but also cool! I still have to smile when I think about it.
None of all the trainees that had ever been in our branch did such a presentation before. It was a premier! Still unbelievable…

What else happend? Well nothing special, I guess. But I’ve got my on Twitter now. Really cool network! So now you will always be up to speed!

I will try to add my “about me”-page the next days. But I’m still addicted to the Twilight-Saga so I’m not sure when exactly it is going to be. Watch me!

Happy May 1st
Kisses, Sanny
